Ruth graduated high school in Chicago, Illinois. She married into the military and traveled the world. She moved the family to Kansas City after military retirement. She worked as a realtor in Chicago, Illinois. While living in Jacksonville, Florida and later Charleston, South Carolina she earned her small aircraft pilots license. Later in Kansas City she worked at General Motors for many years until her retirement. She was a proud member of UAW Local 31 Kansas City, Kansas. During her retirement years she went back to worked as a floral arranger at Hyvee.
She was an avid gardener and loved growing vegetables and flowers. She was a huge Chiefs fans.
Ruth was preceded in death by her two daughters and a grandson.
She is survived by her son, Roy Coulter, daughter, Sharon Leal, grandchildren, great grandchildren.
