Ruth was born January 24, 1933 in Kansas City, KS to the late Earl and Hazel Haworth. She was the fifth of seven children, all of whom preceded her in death.
Ruth married Bob McCulloch in 1952 and three children were born from this union. Bob preceded her in death in 2009. Ruth gave her life to Jesus Christ in 1962. In 1967 the family moved to their farm near Mayview, MO. She was a city girl who quickly learned how to be a farmer's wife. She and Bob attended (and later joined) Countryside Church of the Nazarene. She loved to read her Bible and cherished time spent with her Lord and Savior.
Ruth and Bob built a house together at Lake of the Ozarks and lived there for many years. They returned to the farm and spent several years as "snowbirds", traveling in their RV to Arizona and Texas for the winter months.
After Bob's passing, Ruth moved to Raytown and lived across the street from daughter, Becky, for 9 years. For the last 2 years Ruth resided at the retirement community, The Fountains in Independence.
Ruth loved spending time with family, laughing and always wearing a smile on her face. She loved walking, especially on the beach hunting for shells. Her shell collection includes shells she gathered from Estero Island, FL, Puerto Rico, and Hawaii.
Ruth was a loving and caring person, devoted wife, mom, mother-in-law, grandma, great grandma and friend, always thinking of others first.
Ruth leaves to cherish her loving memory her children, Rebecca (Becky) Thomas and husband, Greg, Jonathan (J.D.) McCulloch, and wife, Christy, and Laura Smith; 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
