

Salvador “Chuck” Tamayo Gonzales was born February 14, 1936 in Kansas City, MO to Virginia (Tamayo) Gonzales and Trinidad Gonzales. Chuck was a lifelong resident in the Westside community. In 1965 he married the love of his life Antonia Reyes-Gonzales and they were married for 35 years. They made it a point to travel every year and often visited some of their favorite places, such as Laredo, Texas, San Antonio, Texas and Guanajuato, Mexico. Chuck also loved gardening and made sure to always grow Hibiscus and Roses for his wife. He loved to sit on the porch with his wife when the weather was nice and listen to his radio. He enjoyed listening to Los Tigres Del Norte, Vicente Fernandez and Fats Domino. Chuck was a man of routine and would walk to Los Alamos Cocina every Saturday for the past 20 years to enjoy some of his favorite meals. Chuck was the true definition of a gentleman. He always showed his family pure unconditional love and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Chuck was preceded in death by his loving wife Antonia Reyes-Gonzales; his daughter Antoinetta “Marie” (Robert) Hernandez; his parents Virginia (Tamayo) & Trinidad Gonzales; his siblings Josephine, Felicitas, Benjamin, Benny, Frank, Louis, Trinidad, Alfred & Gilbert. He is survived by his grandkids Robert John & Christine Hernandez, his great grandkids Liana, Mariah, Siarah, Laila and Robert John III; and his great great-grandkids Lincoln and Mia. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held Monday March 3rd, 2025 at 10:30am with the Rosary at 11:30am, and Mass to follow at 12:15pm. Services will be held at The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 416 W. 12th Street, Kansas City, MO 64105. Christian burial immediately following at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Kansas City, KS.
