Scott told me to never take the same  route twice , he wanted me to know my way around the city . Life is a  Adventure .... Bette 

For  many years Scott did work for me at  Block & Company, We met several times on  project sites where he always completed the work as required.
I could always count on Scott that's why he was the 1st to call when I needed
something done. Extremely reliable and thoughtful person.

I met Scott when I was 7 years old.  I was new to the Gracemor neighborhood and the Hvalachecks, Place, Turner, and Boncacorso family became my childhood friends that you never forget.  He always had a great heart and disposition.

I first met Scott about 6-8 years ago.  I was sitting in Zoo Bar by myself and he came in and sat at the end of the bar with his friends.  He told me to come down and join them, then insisted I try one of the pork soft tacos he'd brought in from a carniceria over in Argentine.  That's just the type of person he was -- nice, friendly, caring.  Later that evening my future wife asked about dinner and I told her I'd already eaten something thanks to "a guy that looked vaguely like Jim Henson". And, by the way, to this date that was the best taco I've ever had.

Scott and I became friends a few years back.  What a wonderful person, he was always full of sound and practical advice.  He was a true confident that only had wonderful words of wisdom.  He had a way of making you look at only the good things in life. 

I will miss how he spoke of his daughter, he was so very proud of her and loved her so much.  He will be sadly missed, my condolences to the family and loved ones.

I will miss Scott very much.  I met him late, only 7 or 8 years ago or so.  He was one of the Zoo clan.  I was always more than glad to see him there or any of the other places that we both frequented.  We always hit it off and we had many great talks about music, funny stories and some serious stuff too.  He always had great advice.  I loved his spontaneity.  It was nothing for him to jump in the truck and hang out with us crazies from time to time.  It will be hard to hang around the Zoo knowing that he won't be stopping in anymore.   People come and go in your life...some leave an everlasting impression...and Scott left one on me.  I will miss you deeply, Scott...and think of you often.  I love you, buddy!

I am truly sorry for the death of your love one Scott. May he sleep peacefully until Jesus Christ awakens him to a wonderful new life and rejoin family and friends (Jo.5:28,29)

Scot spent many days at our house when he was a young man, had lots of fond memories of him , sorry for this one statement but the guy had the stinkest feet ever. Lol we still loved him and will always remember what a sweet man he was.

Such a wonderful soul and incredible gentleman. All of my love and condolences to the family. Scott will be incredibly missed.

Scott was a kind and unique soul. Our friendship began with the Italian Nachos from Cascones. I sat down in the empty seat next to him and he offered me some. that began a friendship largely based on Cheetos and chips and salsa. He never knew a stranger. He was so positive and kind, he made you want to be too. All of our lives are a bit brighter because he was here. He was loved and he'll be missed.

I'm so sorry to find out about Scott.  He always knew how to add a positive or clever comment to any conversation on any subject. He was a joy to visit with.  The thing I think I remember most about him is his love for his daughter and how proud he was of her.  My thoughts are with her and all the many friends and acquaintances Scott touched with his endearing personality.  I will miss his face.

Rest in Peace to the biggest kid I've ever met. Scott, you were the favorite cousin among all of us. You are the definition of forever young and always did anything to make sure every kid was having fun. I remember the time you let us dress you up and do your makeup, you'd do anything to make us laugh. I will always cherish my summers spent in KC thanks to you. You will forever be loved and missed . Words can't adequately express how saddened we are by Scott's early death. He was always such a kind and caring nephew. Family was always so important to him, especially you, Janae. You were his pride and joy. We are so very sorry for your loss. Scott will be missed terribly, but he will live forever in our hearts.

  Truthfully it's still hard to believe that this has happened. We not only lost one man, but a father, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. He may not be here physically, but the memories we have of him lasts forever. He lives through us, with the knowledge and compassion that he bestowed upon all of us. You will be greatly missed uncle Scott, I will always love and cherish you.

My most fond memory of my uncle Scott while growing up, was how he always seemed to be able to take time to play catch and show interest in what was important to me. He provided opportunities for me to make money, and inspired my entrepreneurial spirit. I love you for the positive impact you made on my life.

I have only the fondest memories of Scott. The first time I visited Kansas as a youth from Germany (courtesy of his uncle & my stepdad Tom), he took me under his wings and made me feel so comfortable in what was a foreign culture to me. He introduced me to Springsteen and there was no looking back from there. The last time I saw him a few years ago he took me to see a fantastic band in Kansas City. What a sweet and kindred soul he was. See you in music heaven, Scott!

It is always difficult to lose a family member but Scott was too young to pass.  Many in my family thought of Scott as a "Family Connector."  When I would return to Kansas City from my home in Europe, you could depend of Scott to get the family together.  And he made a point to get the men together at a local KC pub.  His voice was soft and his smile was warm.  Our family will miss you.  Uncle Tom Hlavacek
