Shirley June Andrade, 88 of Kansas City, peacefully passed away on the morning of May 8th, 2023 at St. Luke’s Hospice House. Shirley was born on January 26th, 1935 in Kansas City, Missouri to John E. and Eula I. (Harmon) Limings and was the youngest of five, four girls and one brother. She was a beloved homemaker who enjoyed cooking, sewing, black coffee, Frank Sinatra and her family. She was an active member of Guardian Angels Church, serving on both the altar and rosary societies. She will be remembered for her laugh, ornery spirit, and her specialties that include, Spanish rice, tamales and chocolate sheet cake.
She was married to Ralph Andrade, Jr. on August 10th, 1957 and celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary last August. She is survived by her loving husband and five sons, Ralph (Brenda) of Tulsa, OK, John (Terri) of Independence, MO; children, Lindsey (James), Taylor (Jill), Raquel (David), Dominic (Ayden); Leo (Lloyd) of Silver City, NM, Victor of Kansas City, MO, and Joe (Karin) of Parkville, MO; children, Alli and Nina; as well as 3 great-grandchildren, Sloane, Crosby, and Deacon.
A funeral service with communion will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 12th, 2023 at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 1310 Westport Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Burial will be directly following in Calvary Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 11th with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Guardian Angels Church. Donations are requested to the St. Luke’s Hospice House of Kansas City or Guardian Angels Catholic church.
