Shirley Forrester Mills, 82, Kansas City, MO passed away April 28, 2017. Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 6, at Country Club Christian Church, 6101 Ward Parkway. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Heart of America Chapter, 3846 W. 75th St., Prairie Village, KS 66208.
Shirley was born December 4, 1934 in Kansas City, MO. She graduated from Kansas University with a Masters in Social Work in 1977 and was an avid Jayhawks basketball fan. Her passions were traveling and camping. Shirley felt like she led a good full life and was at peace and ready for her “next great adventure”.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Tracy Margaret Mills. Shirley is survived by her son Timothy W. Mills, daughter Julie Cannon (Michael), companion Ken Roberts, brother Roger Forrester (Becky), five grandchildren Kyle Mills, Robert Mills, Charlie Mills, Luke Cannon and Anna Raine Mills, extended family and friends.
