

God called Stephen M. Teson, 61, to Him on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at St. Luke’s Northland Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He went sooner than we would have liked but we know that he is now at peace forever with God. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri on November 17, 1950 and lived in Kansas City his entire life. He is survived by his two children Nicholas Stephen Teson and Jessica Rebecca Teson and their mother Susan Baker Teson. He graduated from St. Pius X High School, Maple Woods Community College and the University of Missouri at Kansas City. He retired from the Kansas City Missouri Police Department in 2007 after 20 years of service to his community. He loved music, reading, comics, movies and spending time with his children to whom he was devoted. He also greatly enjoyed his time as Den Leader for Cub Scout Pack 357.
He is also survived by his mother, Rita L. Teson, his six siblings and their spouses, Marvin and Kathy Teson, Ron and Sam Teson, Joanne and Tom Comiskey, Rosalie and Bill Kenney, Mary and Craig Fisher, and Mike and Annette Teson, all residing in Kansas City, and his many nieces and nephews and their families, Scott and Suzanne Teson, Joe, Patrick, Luke, Andrew and Peter; his goddaughter Katie and Michael Wells, Olivia and Johnny; Brian and Kelli Teson, Colin and Maggie; Christopher Teson; David Teson; Christi and Damian Schreffler, Braydon and Noah; Sean, Anna and Ryan Comiskey; Jack and Elizabeth Kenney and his goddaughter Maria Kenney; his goddaughter Claire Fisher, Caleb Fisher; Tommy Teson and Peter and Rose Coyne. He was predeceased by his father, Norbert S. Teson in 2009 and his nephew Matthew Stephen Kenney in 1999. He is also survived by a large extended family and many friends who will miss him greatly.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:00 a.m., Thursday, April 26, 2012 at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 900 N.E. Shady Lane Drive, Oakview, MO 64118. Burial to follow at Resurrection North. A rosary will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at 5:30 p.m., with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. Pius X High School, 1500 NE 42nd Terrace, Kansas City, MO 64116.
Steve’s family expresses their deepest gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Luke’s Northland Hospital who assisted Steve during his last days. We are proud that Steve will be able to help others through donations to Midwest Transplant Network.
