He graduated from Ruskin High School in 1973.
He was employed by American Fire Sprinkler Corp in Shawnee, Kansas for over 30 years and retired in 2020.
Stu was a member of South Haven Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, golf, pickleball, and playing dominos with the church men’s group. He loved being a dad and grandpa, traveling with his family and friends, and was a fan of the KC Royals and Chiefs.
He was preceded in death by his parents Glenn D. Rish and Noma L. Whitehead Rish.
Stu is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Karen, his daughter Kimberly Rish, his three sons Derek (Courtney) Rish, Dylan Rish, Mike Rish, his granddaughter Heaven Wright, and his brother Phil (Ruth) Rish.
The family would like to thank the Neurological ICU at Research Hospital, the Rehabilitation Hospital of Overland Park, the Foxwood Springs Rehab Unit and Phoenix Home Healthcare for the care and compassion they showed our loved one.
A visitation will be held at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, located at 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO 64131, on October 27, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A memorial service will follow at the same location from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
