Sue was born on July 11, 1954 in Morris, Illinois. She was the daughter of Frank William and Doris Irene (Putnam) Petersen. The family moved to Park Forest, Illinois and Metuchen, New Jersey where she graduated from High School. Following high school, she moved to Kansas City for further education. While living in Kansas City she met the love of her life, William "Toby" Tobler. Sue and Toby were married on January 5, 1974 at Our Lady of Good Counsel and had two children and four grandchildren.
Sue worked at Belton Research Medical Center for many years retiring as the office manager in 2006. She was a devout Catholic, loved animals, and always put everyone above herself. Her favorite activities were riding horses, going to the beach, spending time with family, and spoiling her grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, William “Billy” Petersen.
Susan is survived by her husband of 51 years, Toby, daughter, Jamie Doris Rattray and husband, Danny, son, Brian William Tobler and wife, Laurie, sister, Becky Zielinski and husband, Bob, grandchildren, Paige, Brock, Lindsay and Connor Tobler, nieces, nephews, one aunt, and countless cousins.
