Sylvester Battice, 92, passed away surrounded by his loving family on December 5, 2016, at Wilshire Nursing Home, Lee’s Summit, MO. Silver was a full-blood Ottawa Indian and was extremely proud of his Native American heritage. He was a graduate of Haskell High School for American Indians in Lawrence, KS, and was a foreman at Midland Litho for many decades, retiring in 1985. A beloved patriarch of his family, Silver was especially devoted to his wife of 71 years, Maxine. Silver was predeceased by his siblings and wife, Maxine, and leaves two daughters, Diana Gladden (and Bob) and Janet M. Scherer. Other survivors include his five granddaughters, thirteen great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Condolences may be left at www.floralhillsfuneralhome.com.
