Sylvia L. Brinkmeier passed away February 6, 2015 after living a full and beautiful life for 97 years. Sylvia was born in Eldon, Missouri on December 3, 1917 the daughter of John and Mattie Evans. In 1937 she married Carl Brinkmeier in St. Louis, Missouri where they lived until Carl’s death. She then made Bishop Spencer Place in Kansas City her home where she could be near her niece Joan Ball.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by five of her siblings, Luther Evans, Gladys Phillips, Mary Ryan, Johnny Hobbs and Jerry Evans. She is survived by her brother Robert Evans and many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of Bishop Spencer Place for their friendship and care over the years. Aunt Sylvia, as she was known to many, always had a smile and a kind word to share with the people who were lucky to meet her. She will fondly be remembered at Bishop Spencer Place as the candy bar lady. She treasured her family and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 2:00-3:00 p.m. followed by funeral service at Mount Moriah and Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
