Sylvia Chapeaux Dysart, 76, Leawood, Kansas, died September 22, 2011 at the Kansas City Hospice House. She was born March 30, 1935 to Blanche (Tullier) Chapeaux and George Chapeaux in New Orleans, Louisiana. Sylvia was proud of, and enjoyed talking about, growing up in Home Place, Louisiana, as the youngest child with two older sisters on a small farm. They raised fruits and vegetables and she got to ride the family mule named “Josephine the Flying Machine.” She had careers in the restaurant, ladies shoe, floral design, and antique doll businesses. She discovered Kansas City because of her association with Kimport Dolls of Independence. Sylvia left Louisiana for Leawood in 1998 upon her marriage to Lewis A. Dysart. She loved the Kansas City area and her many new friends. She was a gifted family peace maker. Her speech, personality, charm and beauty made you know she had come a long way since the farm. She was a great cook, a meticulous homemaker, and she never lost her parents teachings of always telling the truth, no matter the pain. Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Beverly T. Price. She is survived by her husband Lewis; her sister Pearl T. Lawes; her sisters-in-law Mary Dysart and Bonnie Dysart; her children Blake J. Taliancich (Norma) of Picayune, Mississippi, Marvin P. Taliancich and Tanya N. Taliancich (Jeffrey Levi), of New Orleans, Louisiana; her stepchildren Laura D. Marcy (John) of Ridgewood, New Jersey, Kathryn E. Dysart (Jeffrey L. Schwartz) of Katonah, New York, Robert L.
