She was born on July 27, 1956, the daughter of Charles Austin Alig and Mary Ryker Alig of Kansas City, Missouri. She graduated from Park University with a degree in Psychology. Throughout her long career, she managed the Kansas City offices of Notting America and then Zimmer Industries, precision die cutting companies, until her retirement in 2022. She married David Douglas Wright on September 11, 1982, divorced in 1999, and then worked congenially together to raise their two children, the joy of their lives.
A lifelong resident of the north Kansas City area, Teri was a successful, hardworking business manager, and the first woman in her industry to serve on the Board of the International Diecutting and Diemaking Association. She was a faithful member of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church in Gladstone, Missouri.
Teri enjoyed acting in community theatre, crafting, reading (especially mysteries), hosting family gatherings, cooking, coaching youth soccer and watching the Chiefs, Royals and the Missouri Tigers.
Her children and family remember Teri as loving, vivacious, always generous and kind, gracious, wise and witty, and ever supportive of their efforts and interests. She had a terrific, gentle sense of humor, and adored time with her six grandchildren. In later years, she bravely endured health problems with extraordinary grace, good cheer, an iron will, and a tireless commitment to enjoy the blessings in her life, especially her beloved family.
She is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Mary Alig in 1998, and by David Wright in 2007.
She is survived in Kansas City by her son, Christopher Wright, his wife Chelsea Wright, and their children, Oakley and Liam; her daughter Emily Honeycutt, her husband Matt Honeycutt, and their children, Opal, Harrison, Hank, and Otto; her brother David Alig and his wife Sandra Ryals Alig; her niece Susan Alig and her husband Zach Flanders, and their children William and Graham; and in St. Paul, Minnesota, her niece Sarah Alig.
