On November 5, 2012, Teresa Ruiz was called home by her Lord and Savior. She was truly loved by her family, friends and her community. She lived most of her life on Kansas City’s Westside where she raised her three children after the death of her husband Genaro Ruiz Sr., in 1983. She worked part-time at Sacred Heart/Guadalupe Parish for over 20 years before retiring earlier this year. She always had a smile for people and enjoyed helping those who were in need. She had a loving nature and a great sense of humor.
All services will be held at Sacred Heart Guadalupe Parish, 2544 Madison in Kansas City, MO. The visitation and rosary will be November 11, 2012, 6-8 p.m. and mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 12, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in her honor. She will be laid to rest at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Her husband Genaro Ruiz Sr., her father Ricardo Guzman, her brother Eugene Guzman, and her brother-in-law, Bobby Davila, preceded Teresa in death. Three sons survive her: Steven Ruiz, Eduardo Ruiz and Genaro Ruiz (wife Theresa) and granddaughter Miraha. Her mother Josephine Guzman survives along with her two brothers: Lupe Guzman (wife Elaine), Michael and Raymond Guzman; and four sisters: Ramona Arce (husband Joe), Pasty Davila, Mary Lopez (husband Bobby) and Margaret Ruiz (husband Alonzo), and many nieces and nephews.
