Thomas Henry McCord, 20, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away at Kansas State University Sunday October 28. Thomas battled Type 1 Diabetes since age 8. Thomas attended Nativity Parish Grade School, St. Thomas Aquinas High School and was a sophomore at KSU studying English Literature. Thomas was a member of Sigma Pi Fraternity, was an avid reader and participated in many youth activities and sports. Thomas was very proud to be an Eagle Scout.
Thomas is survived by his parents Dan and Therese McCord, Sister Susannah, Brother Paul, Grandparents Fred and Pat Ausdenmoore and a large extended family of 16 Aunts and Uncles and 26 cousins. He was preceded in death by Grandparents Russell and Janice McCord. Thomas’s life was too short but he touched the lives of many with his powerful hugs, big smile and quirky sense of humor. Thomas brought much joy to our family. Rosary and Visitation will be held Friday November 2 at 9:15 at Church of the Nativity in Leawood, Kansas followed by Mass at 11:00 AM.
