

Twila (Tracy) Broockerd born Feb 20, 1928, in Amsterdam, MO, died at the home on Nov. 6, 2017. Twila married August Broockerd in 1948 and has resided in Martin City since that time. Growing up near La Cygne, KS, she went on to graduate from the high school there.
She worked at the Martin City School library for many years as well as being a bus driver for the Center School District. She held many volunteer positions as 4-H leader, Boy Scout Leader, PTA member, past President of Hughes Marvin VFW Post 7900, and was a volunteer for VA Hospital. She will be remembered especially for her devotion to being a great mother and wife.
She is survived by husband, August, of the home, five children Ron (Elaine) Broockerd, Rhonda (Curt) Wilson, Chuck (Mary Beth) Broockerd, Elaine (Mike) Hathaway, and Julie (Scott) Chrisman.
Survivors also include 13 grandchildren, Amy (Jeremy) DeGraeve, Shay Estes (Giuliano Mingucci), Ryan (Rachel) Wilson, Amanda (Bob) Seymour, Tyler Wilson, Emily (Eric) Penyock, Ashley Broockerd, Aaron Hathaway, Brooke (Brett) Randol, Ben (Stephanie) Hathaway, Ann (Tyler) Terry, Claire (Chris) Watson, August Chrisman (Kelly Smith) and 12 great grandchildren.
She also leaves sisters-in-law Lyla Tracy and Bobby Tracy, brother-in-law Gus Broockerd, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Deane & Gladys Tracy, brothers Kenneth and Duane Tracy, twin sisters Leita Broockerd and Leila Kennedy, and great-grandson Liam Seymour.
A VERY Special thanks to her caregivers Dathne and Tisa who were mom's angels here on earth.
