Varnell Jefferies

She wed Wyatt Lee Jefferies Sr. who also preceded her in death. From that union two children were born.

She received her education in the Holly Grove School system and later moved to Kansas City, Missouri where she attended classes at Penn Valley Community College, Kansas City, MO.

She accepted Christ at an early age and had been a member of the Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church, Kansas City, Missouri for many years. While worshipping there, her husband served as assistant minister to the Reverend Wallace Hartsfield Sr,

Varnell worked as a licensed beautician for over thirty years and owned her own shop. She then moved the shop into her home and began working at Research Medical Center, Kansas City, MO. She continued working at Research Hospital as a second shift supervisor managing the housekeeping department before retiring.

She departed from us on September 23, 2021 at Autumn Terrace Health and Rehabilitation.

In her passing she leaves to mourn one brother, Odell (Ella Faye) Adams, Kansas City, KS, one daughter, Geneva Jefferies, Raytown, MO, one son, Dennis E. Jefferies, Kansas City, MO, two grandchildren, Annice N. Hill, Kansas City, MO, DeAngelo L. Jefferies, Independence, MO, two great grandchildren, Dennis Hill Sr., Kansas City, MO, Aaliyah L.Jefferies, Independence, MO, one great­ great grandson, Dennis Hill Jr., two noteworthy nieces, Almarie Robinson, Kansas City, MO, Isabell Hart, Kansas City, MO, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

A visitation will be held from 1-2 PM, service 2 PM on Friday, October 1, at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64133.
