VERNON W. EZELL Vernon W. Ezell, age 83, of Kansas City, MO, passed away June 25, 2014. Funeral to be held at 3PM on Sunday, June 29, at Longview Chapel Christian Church, 850 SW Longview Road, Lee’s Summit. Burial to be held privately at Longview Cemetery. Vernon was born June 25, 1931. He attended Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield. He served his country honorably through the Korean War as a Sergeant in the Marine Corps and as a civil servant for 30 years. He was a member of the Longview Chapel Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his brother Roland Ezell and sister Madeline Jolley. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Jo Ann Ezell; children John Ezell (Laura), Judy Koontz, Dave Ezell (Maria); 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and sister Imogene Dalton. Vernon loved telling stories, flying model airplanes and fishing. Most of all, he was very proud of his family. Memorial contributions may be made to Longview Chapel Christian Church.
