

Born on March 26th, 1920, she was a lifelong resident of Kansas City, Missouri. After graduating from St. Margaret's School of Nursing she joined the Army Nurse Corps during World War II as a commissioned 2nd lieutenant. She graduated from K.U. Medical Center as a physical therapist, served on the Board of Directors for Swope Parkway Health Center, was a member League of United Latin American Citizens, and assistant director for Model Cities-Westside.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Vicente and Bartola Guerra; husband, Salvador Valdivia; all but one of her six brothers and sister; and grandson, Gabriel Valdivia.
She is survived by her children, Margaret M. Raya (John), James F. Valdivia (Victoria), Virginia E. Hernandez, Albert S. Valdivia (Alycee) and Frank A. Valdivia (Julie); brother, Jesus Guerra; twenty-two grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. After her faith in Jesus Christ, family was her most precious possession.
Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. on Monday, December 29th at McGilley Midtown Chapel, 20 W. Linwood Blvd., Rosary at 7p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 30th at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, 901 Cesar Chavez Ave., Kansas City, MO. Entombment in Mt. Olivet Mausoleaum.
