W. Kathy Donnelly

Kathleen was born October 11th, 1936 near Rolla, MO. Dr. EE Feind assisted with the delivery, and she still had the $25.00 receipt that he charged. She lived in Edgar Springs, MO until she completed her junior year of high school at which time she moved to Rolla, MO. She was a member of the first class to graduate from the new Rolla High School. After high school, she graduated from St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Kansas City, MO.

Kathleen worked at Phelps Community Hospital (Rolla) and Menorah Medical Center (Kansas City) as Assistant Director of Nursing.

During her time in Kansas City, she met and married Donald J. Donnelly who became her love of 50 years. She was blessed with four children, Polly Klaus, Michael (Shaia) Donnelly, Donald (Stephanie) Donnelly Jr., and Sara Hipp. She absolutely cherished her nine grandchildren Michael, Erin, Tommy, Reilly, Drew, Luke, Delaney, Mae and Dillon.

Kathleen has two siblings Karl (Carol) Brown of Phoenix, AZ and Karen Johnson of Branson, MO. She loved them both very much, and loved being their big sister.

She had 36 cousins, most of which are still located in the Rolla area. All of her cousins were her best friends growing up, and she continued to see them yearly at the family reunion.

Kathleen was preceded in death by Elmer Lavega Brown and Polly Widener Brown (Parents) and Charles and Emma Widener/Henry and Ellen Brown (Grandparents).

The Funeral Mass will be 10:30a.m., with a visitation from 9:30a.m. to 10:30a.m., Tuesday, January 12th, at St. Thomas More, 11822 Holmes Rd, Kansas City, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care, 1500 Meadow Lake Pkwy, Suite 200, KCMO 64114.
