To Beverly and the Zuber Family
I am sorry for the loss of Walt, my prayers are with you in what I know is a difficult time.  He was  certainly one of a kind - I didn't quite know what to think of him when we first met.  When I think of him now I remember his picture of John Wayne, that booming voice that could be heard in the NE conference room when he was counseling someone difficult even with the door to his office closed, that cold, cold, cold office in the winter, the ever present coffee cup, his desire to win the lottery, his stories, but above all his love for your daughter, and his willingness to help me with my students whenever I asked for it.  He will certainly be missed but never be forgotten.

Coach Zuber was my football and track coach at Van Horn HS in 1969.  But his most significant influence on my life was when he asked me and 3 other young men to attend a summer conference in Colorado with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  I can still remember him calling me into his office from the locker room. It is one of the most important events of my life.  It was during the week in Colorado that I clearly heard the gospel preached and led me to a yielded relationship with Jesus Christ.  God used coach Zuber to select that group of guys which in turn helped shape my life.  I appreciate so much how God used coach Zuber and what that meant to me. I'm so sorry for the family's loss.  Coach Zuber will be missed by so many.

Walt made the best Christmas candy ever.  And he shared some with me.  I always enjoyed my visits with him in the counselor's office.  He is missed.

Dear Beverly, working with Walt in Counseling Center at N E High School there was never a dull moment.  I'll always remember his cowboy coffee. know that you and your family are in my prayers.

I told him he was the best looking guy in our class.A class act.

Dear Zuber family.  The Gall family has great memories of Coach Zuber.  My brother Joe and I were introduced to wrestling by Coach Zuber.  I am forever thankful that Coach asked me to attend a conference of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in Colorado in 1969.  It was one of the most important weeks of my life.  When several of us came back, Coach Zuber helped us start a FCA chapter at Van Horn.  That group helped many students over the years.  He was a fine man. Our prayers to the Zuber family.

I will always be grateful for Mr. Zuber's help with one of my homeless students.  I am sorry for your loss and know that you and your family are in my prayers at this most difficult time.

 Walt's encouragement helped me a great deal at work. There are times when words are not enough. Take courage and find comfort to know how much God cares for you and your family.

in my life, there is the walt (zube) chapter...i worked with zube as a counselor for the ft. osage school district for several years...it is a good chapter...i found walt to be a very empathetic person; a very funny person... i do not think zube ever met a stranger and if he did, that person would be his friend after a short while...some might say that was naivety, but that was not zube...he would find something good in every person...although, at times he would poke fun at you, but that kidding had a purpose!!i can close my eyes and see walt peering over his bi-focal glasses , arms crossed , and saying "yes," "what else is there" i believe he always held his students and colleagues accountable...the walt zuber chapter is worth rereading several times...

Mr. Zuber will long be remembered for his dedication to education.  "Zube" was eccentric as he shared many stories.  He always had words of wisdom in an effort to guide others.  To the Zuber family - I send warm regards and my deepest sympathies.

Greatly saddened to learn of Walt's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones.

Walt was so funny.  Loved his recipe for peanut brittle.  Most important ingredient was to make it in your underwear.

Mr. Zuber was be far the best teacher I ever had. He was always very kind to me. I have always told my kids about him and listening to George Strait in class. My sincerest condolences to his family! May he rest in peace.

Though I was only at Northeast High School five years, you and Walt were among the first people I met.  It was because of you and Walt that I felt comfortable at Northeast during a rather dark period in my life.  I am thankful for having met the both of you.  The kindness, courtesy, compassion. and understanding you had shown me has never been, or ever will be forgotten.
Walt was a big man with an even bigger heart.  He was funny, sincere, and loved by all who knew him--both students and staff!!

Judy and I were saddened to hear the passing of Walt.  We went to Northeast with him and became close friends and remained so.  Walt and I were each others best man at our weddings.

Walt was a very good athlete and a natural leader.  He always cared about others and was very popular and respected, attributes that made him a very effective counselor.  On occasion he would express sadness to me when relating his counseling of students having difficult problems.

Judy and I will always cherish having Walt as part of our lives.

Bev- I'm so sorry for your loss. If you need me, I'm here. Whenever I needed to laugh or vent and NEHS (which was often), Zube was always there for me... I'd love to return the favor for you.

God said 2 U with open arm "a job well done" because u have touch so many life's.  Zuber until we meet asked God 4 one favor can we still have our betting parlor.
