
WARREN E. REED Warren E. Reed passed away peacefully October 14, 2014 at age 98. Warren E. Reed, the first born of three sons, was born to Lashley and Alice (Weller) Reed in Moniteau County, MO, on November 24, 1915. He received his elementary education in California, MO. He farmed with his father and became intrigued by and a collector of the Indian artifacts that he found plowing the fields. He married Edna Francis Hampton, the love of his life, on June 11, 1941. On June 16, 1941, he was inducted into the U.S. Army. He and Edna had one son, Larry Dean, in October of 1946, and the family moved to Kansas City in 1951. He loved to garden and provided the greatest tomatoes to family, church members, and friends. He enjoyed playing cards with the Silver Streaks of Raytown where he gained many very close friends. Finally at age 90, he finished his floor care business and retired. He collected day old bakery products from stores to donate to some charities and his church in the Raytown area. Warren was preceded in death by his parents; both brothers, Gilbert and George; and his greatest loss, his beloved wife, Edna in 1987. He is survived by his son, Larry and his wife Judy; 2 grandchildren, Kevin (wife Michelle) and Amy (husband Kyle Batts) both of the Kansas City area; 5 great-grandchildren, Trinity & Rance Reed, Judith & Hannah, and Randol Batts; as well as many nieces and nephews.
