Warren Ryan Thomas was born on May 9, 1974 to Warren Henry and Virginia Ann Thomas. He was a resident of Lee’s Summit, Missouri where he graduated from Lee’s Summit High School in 1993. He went on to study drafting technologies to receive his Bachelor of Science degree from Central Missouri State University. He met his wife, Sarah Nicol Bobbitt in 1997 and later went on to be married on June 17, 2000. Warren and Sarah went on to have two children, Danielle Renee born in 2005 and Warren Michael born in 2008. Warren was employed at Ruskin Manufacturing in Grandview, Missouri for 20 years where he performed various roles, the latest one being Louver Engineering Application Supervisor. Warren died on October 4, 2022 unexpectedly at the age of 48 and is survived by his wife, children, parents, and two sisters, Nicole Thomas Day and Rachel Thomas Jackson.
Warren lived an incredibly full life! From the time he was very young, he was involved in playing and coaching many organized sports such as soccer, baseball, swimming, and even a little wrestling and football. He was an avid Chief’s, Royals, and Sporting KC fan and would try to watch all games if it was possible. He also was a huge fan of cars and Formula One Racing, and would occasionally refer to himself as a bit of a “gear head” because of the time he spent under the hoods of his own cars. Warren enjoyed the outdoors immensely. In fact, he spent a great deal of time fishing the local lakes and being involved in Scout Troop 220 where he previously earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He continued to work with the troop as a leader and as both of his children still remain heavily involved as well. He supported and encouraged his family in all their school and extracurricular activities, and he tried to be at every event that he could possibly attend. Warren was a member of The Gathering Baptist Church where he functioned as a deacon and served as one of the sound technicians. He was a huge history buff and loved studying anything involving World War I or II. He enjoyed sci-fi, action, and always a good comedy movie or publication. Also enjoyed by many was his love for cooking great food and adventurous endeavors in new recipes and cuisine cultures.
He loved hosting people in his home and would always extend the utmost hospitality and courtesy to all guests. Warren demonstrated an enormous servant’s heart and would continuously put others before himself. He was a wonderful protector who kept personal safety as a primary tenet in his dealings for himself and his loved ones. He was loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 13 from 10-11 AM, service 11 AM, at The Gathering Baptist Church, 1500 SW Clark Rd, Blue Springs, MO 64015.
