

Warren W. Weaver, lifelong resident of Kansas City, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2017, at St. Luke’s Hospital. Born October 10, 1930, the third son of Clark and Margaret Weaver, Warren married Constance H. Meyer in 1951.
After attending Southwest High School and the University of Kansas, where he was a Delta Tau Delta, Warren served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Upon leaving the service he worked in the family lumber business, Roddis Lumber and Veneer Company, until 1968. Warren joined Commerce Bank in 1968 as Vice President and Director of Marketing. During his career, he served as President of Commerce Bank of Kansas City and was on the U.S. Board of MasterCard and Advisory Board for the University of Kansas School of Business. He retired in 1996 as Vice Chairman of Commerce Bancshares.
A former member of the boards of St. Luke’s Hospital, Bishop Spencer Place and the YMCA, Warren also served as the President of the Kansas City Crime Commission and President of both the Kansas City Club and Indian Hills Country Club. He most recently served as Chairman of the Disbursement Committee of the Oppenstein Brothers Foundation, Chairman of the Board of Milbank Manufacturing Company and on the Board of Roddis Lumber in San Antonio, TX.
Warren was preceded in death by his brothers Clark and Bob and his eldest daughter Susan (2008). Warren is survived by wife Constance Weaver, daughter Caroline Smart (John) of Winnetka, IL, as well as grandchildren, Ashley, Jeffrey, Gregory and Douglas.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 28, at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 6401 Wornall Terr., Kansas City, MO 64113. Private family burial. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church.
