William G. Turner, Jr. passed away June 3rd, 2015 at the KC Hospice House. He put up a good battle with cancer and congestive heart disease. He was born at Saint Luke’s Hospital on February 19th, 1934 to William Turner, Sr. and Lucille (Bagby) Turner. Bill attended Shawnee Mission (North) Rural High School and the Universities of Missouri and Colorado. His greatest joys in life were getting his pilot’s license as a young man and being a Volunteer Fire Fighter for the Leawood Fire Dept. in the 50’s. He loved life and all the people he ever met.
Bill was a born salesman and followed his father in sales which he was so well suited for. He never met a stranger and had a basket full of stories of life in Johnson County where he grew up. Bill found great pleasure in his hobbies of boating, fishing, gardening, barbequing and woodworking.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Brenda J. (Blackledge) Turner, his stepdaughter Debra L. Jones, and two daughters Janet and Lisa.
His wishes were for cremation and a private family inurnment which we will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the KC Hospice, 1500 Meadow Lake Pkwy., Ste. 200, Kansas City, MO 64114, who provided comfort and family support during this difficult time.
