Wilton was born in Kansas City, MO to Fredrick and Dorothy Dod. He graduated from University of Central Missouri with a Bachelor of Science Degree. He was a Korean War veteran who served in the United States Navy from 1955 through 1957. He pursued a career in sales, but the highlight of his working years was as an administrator on the Alaska Pipeline in Prudhoe Bay.
Wilton lived at Lake Lotawana and in Independence, MO, then later in Houston and San Antonio, TX. He was a member of the Lions Club, Optimist Club and was a Shriner. He enjoyed travel, boating, and walking on the beach.
He was preceded in death by Betty Dod, his loving wife of 53 years. He is survived by his four children, Wilton, Jr., Christie, David, and Debbie, 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and his sister Martha Weddington.
