

Winifred Webb LaBarge, 87, of Independence MO died peacefully at the Rosewood Care Center on April 3, 2013. Visitation is Saturday, April 6th at 9:30am with service beginning at 10:30am held at the McGilley & Sheil Funeral Home. Burial following at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Winnie, as she was called by her family and friends, was born July 22, 1925 in Republic, Kansas to John David Powell and Mary Webb. After marrying Ronald LaBarge they started their family in Lincoln, Nebraska before settling in Independence, MO; where they remained to raise their three children.
During her life time she enjoyed many activities and hobbies that included sewing, playing cards, traveling, bargain shopping with her daughters and granddaughters, visiting with family and tending to her plants and flowers in her yard. After retiring from Sears, she also enjoyed going to music shows and traveling with her close group of friends. Winnie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter, Bonnie Roberts and youngest grandson, Michael LaBarge. She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Connie and Sam Hale and her son, Ron LaBarge Jr.; 8 grandchildren: Nathan LaBarge, Jenorey Wood (Chris), Kim Felemonski (Jim), Donald Roberts, Joanna Simmons (Benjamin), Brenda Schultz (David), Lara Wood (John) and Lisa Winter (John) and her 13 great-grandchildren: Kinsley, Emma, Michael, Kaitlynn, Christine, Sabrina, Samantha, Ryan, Audrey, Annalise, John, Jeremy, and Raelynne.In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Children’s Mercy Hospital.
