Zelta A. Kurtz

Zelta Alvetta Kurtz, beloved mother and grandmother, 77, of Paola, Kansas, passed away peacefully Thursday evening, August 15th, 2024, at home with her daughter by her side. She was born April 12th, 1947, in Kansas City, MO to George L. and Dolorse M. Kurtz.

She enjoyed years of bowling in leagues with her mom and dad as well as her sister. Gardening, canning, ceramics, sewing and making clothes for her daughters and a love for fishing and lake life are just a few of the many things she loved to do. She also enjoyed gambling. From slot machines to Keno, she then found instant scratchers and she was a very, very lucky woman.

From her smile to her laugh, she would light up the room when she walked in. Her presence will be deeply missed by many, many people.

Zelta was preceded in death by her mother, Dolorse M. Kurtz, on March 30th, 2010, her father, George L. Kurtz, March 9th, 2016, and her sister Deborah M. Ferguson, June 24th, 2021.

She is survived by two daughters, Lorrie Lynn Hudgens of Paola, Kansas and Christina Louise Hudgens of Kansas City, Missouri; two grandsons, Ryan James (Katryna) Leach of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, Austin Joseph (Jasmine) Roebuck of Lemoore, California; one granddaughter Ariel Nicole Welch of Spicewood, Texas; one great grandson, Hunter James Leach, one great granddaughter Elena Roebuck; two sisters, Karen Kay (Dan) Carmona of Stanley, North Carolina and Peggy Ann Marshall of Kansas City, Missouri; three nieces and two nephews; many relatives and friends.
