

Andrew Dallas Alexander, born on August 23, 1947, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2021, and now rests safely in the arms of Jesus. His love for his family, the outdoors, NM culture, archaeology, teaching and writing are all hallmarks of his life, that will bring joyful memories to those who knew him best. Andrew leaves behind his loving wife Jinan Hu (Jean), his adoring daughter and grandchildren Dawn, Rico, Shantae and Micah, and brothers and sisters Eileen Betzen, Chris Alexander, Debbie and John Phillips, Kathy and Tom Foster, and Tamara Alexander. He will be missed by his nieces and nephews, Shanna Betzen, Chad Alexander, Duane Phillips, Crystal Wilmot, Andrew and Hanna Foster, Joseph, Jonathan, and Judy Alexander, and Mike, Keith, and Stephen Bird. He was preceded in death by his mother and father Mary V. and A.D. Alexander, grandson Michael, brother Greg Alexander, sister Tancy Bird, nephews Jason, Brian, and James “Jamie” Alexander, and he looked forward to seeing them all again in God’s heavenly kingdom. We will forever remember and miss the endless adventures he took us on every time he told us a story. We grieve the loss of the one we loved so much, but celebrate the life he left behind – a life devoted to caring for those closest to his heart. His ashes will be laid to rest among the other fallen heroes in the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico on Friday, January 21, 2022 at 12:45 p.m. with full military honors.
