With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved Betty, who departed this life on July 19, 2025. She was born in La Ceiba, Honduras, where she spent her early years surrounded by family, vibrant culture, and the beauty of the Caribbean coast.
Betty was a woman of grace, elegance, and boundless generosity. With a high school education and a fierce spirit of independence, she built a successful life as a business owner. Later in life, her heart led her to serve as a devoted caretaker, offering compassion and comfort to those in need.
Her life was a beautiful tapestry of service and love. She expressed her care most profoundly through cooking, nurturing, and warm, embracing hugs. She was known for her noble character, giving nature, and calm strength. Even in the hardest of times, she carried herself with resilience and grace—always composed, always kind.
She found joy in the simple pleasures of life—shopping for treasures, solving puzzles and crosswords, and most of all, being by the beach with her family. Her favorite colors, yellow and orange, reflected the warmth and brightness she brought into every room.
Betty was married to German Linares from 1971 to 1990 and later to Efrain Paz from 1996 to 2001. Though life brought its challenges, her elegance and inner light never dimmed.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, German Linares (1981–2021), whose memory she carried close to her heart.
She is survived by her loving family Jenny Sosa, daughter, and Mario Sosa, son-in-law; granddaughters Tatiana Linares, Jennifer Alvarado, Laura Alvarado, and Anahi Alvarado, German Antonio Linares, son, Aime Chavez Linares, daughter, and Jose Chavez, son-in-law; granddaughter Isabella Chavez, Yennifer Rincon, daughter-in-law (German’s family); grandchildren Jordan Linares and Sydney Linares, Marcela Siles, daughter, and Kevin Siles, son-in-law; grandchildren Marc Siles, Kevin Siles Jr., and Emily Siles.
Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know her. She will forever be remembered for her class, her kindness, and her unwavering love.
A private service will be held with family and close friends to honor her life and memory.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you carry her legacy forward by helping someone in need, sharing a warm meal, or offering a hug—just as she would have.
