Chuck was born on April 19, 1955 to parents Charles Anthony Rice and Lois Rice.
He was the eldest of 6 children, Adele, Fred, Chris, Regina and Joe.
He moved to California in his early years to pursue his career as a programmer with BMC Software's,
and his career flourished from there for the next 31 years.
Technology was his work, but more than that, his hobby.
His second home was his garage where he collected all of
his "toys" and where his ideas came to life. Each halloween his inner
child would take over the house to turn it into a spooky haunted house
for all the neighborhood kids to come enjoy a tour;
he loved seeing a smile on their faces. He would prepare the jello hands
and brains, his skeleton would light up the room playing the guitar,
which he won a award for creativity, and he had the best make-up and costume wardrobe
anyone could imagine. He always enjoyed gathering the family to host pizza parties
and watch his favorite black and white films. Audio books would lull him to sleep every night,
along with a bowl of popcorn.
But most of all, he was passionate about his family and everyone who surrounded him.
Chuck was a brilliant man full of wisdom and kindness.
A loving husband to Marcela Rice, which he dearly called her ChooChoosita.
Their nickname was coined after they met for the first time playing Mexican Train
in Norman, Oklahoma at Joe and Alba’s house. This beautiful story ended in 2 brothers, marrying 2 sisters.
An amazing father to 6 children, Athena, Trevor, Julian, Carolina, Maria and Daniela,
and a wonderful grandfather to Alexandra and Santiago.
He had the greatest heart we ever knew, in lieu of flowers,
a donation to the Todd Krampitz Foundation in his name will be appreciated.
Gracias ChooChoosito por estos 10 años de felicidad, te voy a extrañar. Te amo
