Christina “Christi” Johanna Zuilhof, age 34, entered into eternal life on Sunday, June 1, 2025, due to complications from pneumonia. Born August 2, 1990, to John and Cynthia “Cindy” Zuilhof, Christi grew up in Katy, Texas, with her sisters Elizabeth “Beth” and Anne Marie, along with many cousins and a large, loving extended family. Christi attended preschool at Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church, Hayes Elementary School, McMeans Jr High School and Cinco Ranch High School.
God then led Christi and her family to The Brookwood Community in Brookshire, TX, where she has since been a Day Citizen and found her purpose and joy most recently working in the Ceramics Studio. Her parents were honored with the opportunity to build a home on the Brookwood campus and the three of them have been fully immersed in this incredible faith-filled community for the past 10 years and where Christi truly thrived.
Christi was known for her big bright smile, loving spirit, and always communicated to you through her beautiful eyes and touch. She had a way of bringing the best out in others, loved to hold your hand or blow you a kiss, and was seen as an angel of love on this earth. Christi loved socializing with her friends, enjoyed being silly, and had a contagious joy felt by all when you were in her presence. Attending Mass and receiving Holy Communion was always the highlight of her week and brought her great joy and peace.
She leaves behind her parents and sisters, her extended family of Grandma Jackie, aunts, uncles, cousins, second cousins, devoted caregiver, Marisol, and so many very special Brookwood friends who deeply loved her—and will miss her.
To celebrate Christi’s life, there will be a Vigil service on Monday, June 9, 2025 at 5pm at The Brookwood Community Chapel, 1752 FM 1489, Brookshire, Texas. A funeral Mass will be held at 11am on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at St. Faustina Catholic Church, 28102 FM 1093 in Fulshear, Texas, with Fr. Dat Hoang and Fr. Christopher Meyer presiding.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Christi’s memory to The Brookwood Community, where adults with disabilities find meaning and purpose each day, at brookwoodcommunity.org/donate. Be sure to check the box that says “This gift is in honor or memory of someone” and enter Christi Zuilhof in the “Tribute” section.
