

Andy was born September 18, 1936 in Wichita Falls, TX to Clarence R. and Pauline Andrews. He was the older brother to Priscilla Roe. He grew up in Wichita Falls surrounded by family and childhood friends.
He was a graduate of Wichita Falls High School and attended Midwestern University where he was a member of the ROTC rifle team. Clarence Rayburn “Andy” Andrews and Anita Carol Lyon, high school sweethearts, were married in Wichita Falls on July 27, 1958 at First Evangelical United Brethren Church. After getting married, Anita and Rayburn moved to Lubbock where he worked as a Department of Public Safety highway patrolman. He worked for 16 years as a highway patrolman and polygraph specialist with the DPS before opening his own polygraph business, Andrews and Associates, in 1972 in Tyler, Texas. Andy was active in several civic organizations, Shriners International and The Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and he ran for Smith County Sheriff in 1984 and 1988. He enjoyed traveling, golfing, and scouting and hiking with his son, Chris. Andy was the adored father to three children, Angela Renee, Cynthia Carol and Christopher Arthur and grandfather to Carol Renee and Garrett Wayne and great-grandfather to Rowan Sage. Family was the central focus of his life.
Andy is preceded in death by his wife Anita Carol, his parents, Clarence R. and Pauline, his sister Priscilla, and his beloved son Chris. He will be buried next to Anita beside Chris at Cathedral in the Pines Memorial Garden in Tyler at a later date.
Survivors include daughters Angie and Cindy, as well as grandkids, Carol and Garrett, and Great Granddaughter Rowan Sage. He also leaves behind sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, and good friends. He is loved and will be missed forever.
