

Dorothea Scott Bobbitt “Dot” passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2014. She is survived by her husband, Larry; her two sons; Mickey and his wife Rebecca, and their son Mitchell; Mark and his wife Carmilla, and their sons Liam and Kian, plus his children from his previous marriage; Shea, Ryan, and Erin and other step children from her son’s wives are Matthew, Cory, Sara, Tesa, and Luke. Dot loved each one dearly. Dot was the only child of Herman and Lucille Scott who preceded her in death. She was born in Yowell Texas on September 26, 1933 and raised in Dallas, Texas where she graduated from Adamson High School. She was married in Hugo, Oklahoma to Larry for over 61 years and they resided in Dallas until 1965 when Larry was transferred to Houston. Dot worked 13 years for Mobil Oil in Dallas and 12 years for Cisco Commercial Collection Corporation in Houston. When Larry and Dot retired they settled in Weston Lakes where she was active in the Women’s Association, the Nine Hole Ladies Golf Association, the Garden Club, and was a member of the Fulshear United Methodist Church. Dot will be greatly missed by her family and many cherished friends. The Funeral Service will be conducted at 2 pm on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at the Katy Funeral Home, 23350 Kingsland Boulevard in Katy. Burial will follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery. Dr. Mark Welshimer will officiate. The family wishes to express their gratitude to John and Helen Dunn for their assistance during this twelve day period. Pall Bearers are: Merlyn Bruce, Don Rainey, Bill Parker, John Dunn, Bob Machen, Carl Whitlock, Henry Bayard, Jeff Bobbitt, Shea Bobbitt, and Ryan Bobbitt.
