

She was born Feb. 4 1924 in Glen Flora, Texas to Clarence James and Myrtle Dayvault Williams, four minutes before her twin sister Louise. Eleanor attended Texas Women’s University in Denton, graduating with a business degree. She married Sam Henderson Jr. in 1951, and lived most of her adult life in McAllen, TX. After raising their five children she worked in the McAllen ISD as a school registrar. Eleanor enjoyed playing bridge with friends, being active in P.E.O. and the Junior Service League. She and Sam were active members and very involved at the First Presbyterian Church in McAllen.
She was predeceased by her husband Sam, daughters Sue Ellen Henderson and Mary Kay Williams. She is survived by sons John (Susan) Henderson of Austin, Sam Henderson III of Alamo, and Rick Henderson of Katy, and her grandchildren Ryan and Logan Henderson, Julie Henderson and Ashleigh Henderson in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.
Famous for her desserts, everyone always looked forward to her cookies and treats. You could count on Eleanor to always have cookies ready to go with a smile on her face.
A Memorial Services will be held at Katy Funeral Home, 23350 Kingsland Blvd, on January 30, at 11:00 am. Burial will be at Valley Memorial Gardens, 3605 N. Taylor Rd. Mission Texas. On Febuary 1, at 11:00.
