Elizabeth Doyne Bensinger

away in early August 2021, at the age of 74. Born in 1946, in Evanston, Illionois, Liza graduated from

New Trier High School, in Winnetka, Illinois, attended Bennett College, in Millbrook, New York, and

dedicated more than 30 years as Account Manager, with Shell Oil Company, in Chicago and

Houston. Following retirement, Liza proudly enjoyed entertaining family and friends in her home

and pool, in Katy, Texas.

A lifelong supporter of the arts, Liza inspired those around her with a sense of fairness, inclusion

and compassion for others. Her quick wit, easy laugh and all around niceness, drew people to her both at home and in her travels abroad, especially in Bali, Indonesia, where she enjoyed a second residence for several years of her life.

Loving mother to Sarah, as well as many cherished furry and feathered friends, Liza will be

remembered for her generous heart and giving spirit.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Eleanor; father Edward; and sister, Lydia (Scott). She is survived by Patera family brothers: Edward (Ellen), Matthew (Robin), Nick (Amy) and sister, Mary, alongside many nieces, nephews, cousins and grand family.

Private remembrances will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations

to the Sheldrick Wildlife Foundation, animal shelters, or arts organizations.
