Elizabeth Purdie Weber

Elizabeth Purdie Weber, 80 years old, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at approximately 2:45 p.m. in Austin, Texas, with her friends and family at her side. Elizabeth is survived by her loving son, Frank H. Weber, daughter-in-law Adrienne L. Weber, granddaughter Natalie F. Weber, her sister Mary Craft and brother Donald "Donnie" Mackenzie.

Elizabeth was born to the late Charles and Mary Clark in Falkirk, Stirling, Scotland on November 12, 1939. She attended both primary and secondary schools in Dunfermline and Inverkeithing. While she certainly loved her home she had aspirations for a different life, which eventually led her to Canada.

Shortly after moving to Canada, a friend asked Elizabeth if she would accompany her to a job interview with Eastern Airlines. Elizabeth made such a good impression that they hired her instead of her friend. Soon thereafter, Elizabeth relocated to Miami, Florida and became a Flight Attendant. During her many years of flying she met numerous celebrities, dignitaries, public figures and all sorts of interesting people, but on one particular flight she met her future and late husband, Dr. Frank E. Weber, DDS. Married in 1967, Elizabeth put her airline career behind her and later gave birth to her only son, Frank H. Weber, in July 1969. Elizabeth settled down to tend to her family in Indianapolis, Indiana. While being a stay-at-home mom, she also sought out volunteer opportunities to help others in need and people who were less fortunate.

In 1973, Elizabeth became a naturalized U.S. Citizen and began working with the Eli Lily Corporation in Indianapolis. A few years later, in 1977, she moved to Houston, Texas, seeking new job opportunities eventually settling into a career in the financial services industry, where started with Interfirst Bank in downtown Houston. She was a natural communicator and interestingly enough wound up working in the bank's Telecommunications department. Elizabeth quickly rose up the ranks and took over supervising the bank's communication installations. She continued to manage voice and data communications for First City Bank, EDS, IBM and was eventually promoted to Vice President of Global Network Telecom Operations for the U.S. West Region, J.P. Morgan Chase, where she was responsible for over 200 locations in Texas, Arizona and California.

Eventually, Elizabeth moved on after J.P. Morgan Chase and worked stints for BP during the Deep Water Horizon incident in BP's Crisis Communication Center and later, part-time with ConocoPhillips in Executive Reception. Again, her love to meet, greet and communicate were always central to whatever role she held during her professional career.

In her spare time Elizabeth enjoyed crafting such as knitting scarfs for friends and family, making wreaths, party favors, custom baskets for events, and so much more. You could easily see all of the love and care that she put into her creations. They were reflections of who Elizabeth was as a person, sweet, kind and endearing. She was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind beautiful memories.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at 10am at the Katy Funeral Home, 23350 Kingsland Blvd, Katy, TX 77494. Elizabeth will be laid to rest at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77079.
