With profound sadness we announce the sudden but peaceful passing of Francisco Joseph Garcia, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He passed away peacefully in his sleep at his residence in Katy, Texas on May 30, 2021 at the age of 73.
Born in Pedras Negras, Mexico on December 8, 1947 to Ralph and Minerva Garcia, Frank was the youngest of six children. He is remembered as driven and gregarious with a great sense of humor. These qualities were what captured the heart of his wife, Mary Garcia whom he married on August 4, 1972. Frank had a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Business Administration. He started as a college professor in Brownsville, Texas before accepting a job with Foster Wheeler in New Jersey which then began his career in the oil and gas industry and relocated him to the Houston area. Throughout his career Frank worked for various oil and gas companies within Houston which resulted in extensive travel. His career landed him in various states within the US as well as Mexico City, Venezuela, and Cadiz Spain. In these travels he collected many friends whom he loved. At the end of his career he returned to Foster Wheeler where he retired at the age of 62. Frank’s career accomplishments brought him great pride but so did his daughter, Shelley Morales. Frank had the honor of parenting his daughter, Shelley Morales, who brought him great happiness and many headaches. Shelley remembers her father as a wonderful dad with a good sense of humor and a lot of sayings like, “It is what it is.” Frank later became a father in law to Francisco Morales and a loving and cautious Grandpa to Maximilian and Olivia Morales. Throughout his retirement and towards the end of his life he enjoyed spending time with his family and many dogs that he adored.
