

During the Korean War, Dick joined the US Army 82nd Airborne and served two years in Frankfurt, Germany. While in Germany, Dick came back on a 30 day leave to marry the love of his life, Jackie. Jackie and Dick celebrated 60 years of marriage in January.
In 1950 Dick began working at Honeywell, starting on the assembly line and retiring in 1996 as Regional Manager. While with Honeywell, Dick relocated to Virginia and Georgia before moving to Katy in 1975. During his 46 years with Honeywell, he earned numerous awards including the Lund Award for Managerial Excellence in People Development.
He is survived by wife, Jackie and four children, Rich, Steve, Mike and Ellen and 15 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and his sister, Lucy. He was preceded in death by his son, Dan.
Dick enjoyed traveling with both friends and family, playing golf and tennis and after retiring developed a love for cooking, especially his famous "ribs". He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, March 24th at 4:00 at Katy Funeral Home, 23350 Kingsland Blvd., Katy, Texas, 281-395-7070. A Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday morning - time and place to be announced. Dick's ashes will be placed at the Veteran's National Cemetery in Houston.
