Gladyns Obiageli Ngozi Nwosu was born on July 14, 1956, in Makurdi, Benue, Nigeria, to Johnny William Kude of Freetown, Sierra Leone, and Maria Nwadobi Kude of Asaba, Delta State, Nigeria. Gladyns was ambitious, open-hearted, and known for opening doors to all who came into her life. She was married to Mr. Kingsley Onyekachi Nwosu, with whom she built a loving family. Together, they were blessed with five children: Mr. Kingsley Chukwuka Nwosu, Ms. Aduago Nwosu, Mr. Nnaemeka Rouchelle Nwosu, Ms. Rose Anne Munachi Nwosu, and Mr. Samson Chukwunweike Nwosu. She also cherished her grandchild, Allison Tobechukwu Orlu.
Gladyns pursued her education in London, earning a degree in catering from City & Guilds between 1980 and 1982, fulfilling her earliest ambition of becoming a chef. She worked passionately as a caterer and supermarket owner, later serving as a matron at Radiance Schools from 2005 to 2010. Gladyns continued to enrich her spiritual life by earning a degree in theology, a testament to her dedication to faith and learning. She was a woman of kindness, generosity, and peaceful living, values she hoped others would carry forward.
She found joy in cooking, reading the Bible, and sports, especially volleyball. Those who knew Gladyns remember her for the big smile she always wore and her ability to make people laugh. She delighted in songs from Jim Reeves, Don Williams, and gospel music, and she cherished moments observing the unity among her children. White was her favorite color, reflecting her pure heart and love for peace. Above all, she wished to be remembered as a helpful, happy, and peace-loving person.
Gladyns is survived by her beloved husband, Mr. Kingsley Onyekachi Nwaosu; her children; her grandchild; and her sibling, Evans Lucious Kude. She is preceded in death by her siblings Mr. Eugene Kude and Mr. Johnny William Kude Jr.
As we remember Gladyns, we take comfort in the words of John 11:25: “Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.’” Gladyns’ life was a beacon of faith, love, and joy that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
