Mrs. Irene Menuau

It is with great sadness yet profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Mrs. Marguerite “Irene” Menuau, who entered eternal rest at the remarkable age of 104. Born on February 7, 1920, in Cap-Haitian, Haiti, Irene was the daughter of Leopold Pavie and Meotilde Bernadin. After the untimely passing of her mother when she was just three years old, Irene was lovingly raised by her Aunt Marie Pavie, who also served as her Godmother and mentor. Under Marie’s guidance, Irene grew into a strong, compassionate, and dedicated woman, deeply influenced by her aunt’s wisdom and care.

Although Irene held a teaching degree, her true calling was found within her home, where she devoted herself to raising her six children and nurturing her family. Her influence extended far beyond her immediate family, as she became a maternal figure to many in her community, known for her selflessness and love.

Irene was married to the love of her life, Raymond Menuau, for 60 beautiful years until his passing. Together, they built a legacy of love and devotion that now lives on in their children: Marie-Claude Menuau (deceased), Karl-Henry Menuau, Alix Menuau, Myrtho Menuau, Marlene Cassagnol, and Raymond Menuau. She was a proud grandmother to nine grandchildren and a doting great-grandmother to 13 great-grandchildren. Family was her cornerstone, and her home was always filled with laughter, warmth, and togetherness. Irene believed family was the essence of life, and her devotion to them remained her greatest joy and motivation, enabling her to thrive for 104 remarkable years.

Her passion for children extended far beyond her family, as she became the neighborhood daycare provider, nurturing countless young lives. She was an exceptional cook who took delight in sharing her recipes and meals with those around her. In her free time, Irene loved listening to live music and dancing, often accompanied by her husband and their friends. Her home was a hub of joy and celebration, where she entertained loved ones and created countless cherished memories.

Mrs. Marguerite “Irene” Menuau will forever be remembered for her boundless love, unwavering faith, and dedication to her family and community. Her legacy is one of kindness, resilience, and a life well-lived. She will be dearly missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know and love her. May she rest in peace.
