September 12, 1962 – July 27, 2025
Jackie Woodard was born on September 12, 1962, in Corpus Christi, Texas to Fred and Alice Brulloths. As the oldest of five children, Jackie was a natural leader from an early age. She was mature, organized, and a steady role model to her siblings: Lannie Misage, Randy Brulloths, Denise Buhidar, and Rodney Brulloths. She began school at just four years old at Ursuline Catholic Academy of Laredo and quickly stood out for her intelligence and sense of responsibility.
During her junior high years, Jackie thrived in her UIL activities and built lasting friendships. At King High School, she joined the Royalette Drill Team, was active in Young Life, and balanced a full social life while helping care for her younger siblings. She later attended Corpus Christi University to study marketing. Around that time, at the age of 18, she met the love of her life, Jeff Woodard. They married a year later and spent the next 37 years building a life rooted in love, partnership, and faith.
Jackie began her professional career at JCPenney, where she advanced through the management program to become Senior Merchandise Manager of the women’s department. She was admired for her quick thinking, bold leadership, and instinct for understanding customer needs. After relocating to the Rio Grande Valley, Jackie left retail to support the family business, leading marketing efforts for her husband’s dealerships and playing a vital role in their success, all while raising their two daughters.
Later, Jackie returned to retail with DSG, the largest licensee of Ashley Furniture HomeStore. She was instrumental in developing training systems that helped shape the company’s culture and empowered countless employees. Her influence can still be felt in every guest interaction and through the many team members she mentored and inspired.
Jackie’s most cherished role was that of wife, mother, and “Mimi.” She poured her heart into her family, supporting her daughters through every milestone and teaching them to be strong and faithful women. She adored her grandchildren, Noah, Evan, and Ellie Salazar, Sofia Santos, and created beautiful, lasting memories with each of them. She loved her sons-in-law, Aaron Salazar and David Santos, as her own.
Above all, Jackie loved the Lord. Her faith grew stronger through life’s trials, and she lived it out boldly. She served faithfully at North Rock Church in San Antonio as a greeter and Bible study leader. To her daughters, she gave the enduring gift of resilient, unwavering faith and the example of a life grounded in God’s love.
Jackie is survived by her husband Jeff Woodard, daughters Lauren Salazar and Lindsey Santos, sons-in-law Aaron Salazar and David Santos, grandchildren Noah, Evan, and Ellie Salazar, Sofia and Luca Santos, her mother Alice Brulloths, and her siblings Lannie Misage, Denise Buhidar, Randy Brulloths, and Rodney Brulloths. She is preceded in death by her father, Fred Brulloths.
Jackie’s legacy is one of faith, family, and unconditional love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
