John Michael Vangilder

John Michael VanGilder, born May 5, 1969 in Houston, TX to Kerry and Betty VanGilder, died suddenly in his home August 22, 2017 to heart complications. John was hospitalized in March 2016 with flu/pneumonia that led to heart failure and was never able to make a full recovery.

He is survived by his wife Janet VanGilder, daughters Kaylea and Erin VanGilder; sister Susan Bancroft, niece Kendal, nephews Christian and Logan Bancroft; brother Kevin VanGilder; and several other family members across the United States.

John was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He loved those closest to him more than words can express. He was a proud heavy equipment operator for the water department in his hometown Katy, TX. John loved the Houston Texans and was always excited for football season. The ongoing battle with Jaguars will continue. I will make sure of that love. The beach was John's favorite place. If there was wind, surf, and sand, he loved it.

We will all miss him greatly and he will forever be in our hearts.
