Kristy Lynn Madia-Saucedo passed away on August 31, 2025, at the age of 47. She was born on March 3, 1978, in Chicago, Illinois to Bonnie Tomczak and Joseph Madia. She was lovingly raised on the southwest side of Chicago by her mother, Bonnie, and her dad, Terry Hartnett. Kristy grew up surrounded by the joy and love of her siblings Melissa and Terrance (TJ) Hartnett. From a young age, Kristy’s bright spirit and energy shone through. She participated in sports, graduated from Our Lady of Snows Elementary School, and later from Lourdes High School. At just twelve years old, when asked what she wanted to be, Kristy’s answer was simple and heartfelt: “I want to be a mom.” That dream became her greatest joy in life. In 1997, Kristy relocated to Houston, Texas with her firstborn, Gianna. She later welcomed Gabriel “Midget” in 2000, Alyssa in 2003, and Skyla in 2009, cherishing every moment as their mother.
Kristy devoted her professional life to caring for others. She began her career as a medical assistant for ten years before pursuing her true calling as a licensed medical aesthetician. For more than 20 years, she was known as the heart and soul of her practice and was deeply beloved by both her patients and colleagues. Kristy’s dedication and expertise led her to become a nationally recognized CoolSculpting trainer and ambassador beginning in 2011, as well as a SkinPen ambassador and licensed laser technician. Her success in her field was not only measured by her many accomplishments but also by the lives she touched and the confidence she inspired in those she cared for.
Family was at the center of Kristy’s life. She was the proud and devoted mother of Gianna and spouse Rebecca, Midget, Alyssa, and Skyla. Her home was also filled with love from her dogs, Harley and her late companions Betsy and Daisy. She is survived by her parents, Bonnie and Terry, her siblings Melissa and TJ, and her half-siblings Joey, Nick, Tony, and Gina Madia. Kristy was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Ted and Florence Tomczak, her grandmother Dolly, and her paternal grandparents, Sam and Rhea Madia.
Kristy’s interests and passions reflected her vibrant and joyful personality. She loved working out, weight training, bike riding and cardio, often balancing her discipline with spontaneous dancing and endless laughter. She found creativity through painting, DIY crafts, reading books and puzzles, and she cherished vacations at the beach as well as time spent with her children in the pool. Kristy treasured visits with family and friends in her hometown of Chicago and cheered faithfully for her favorite teams, the Chicago Bears, the Chicago White Sox, and the Houston Astros. She delighted in celebrating birthdays and special occasions, always creating lasting memories. Above all, Kristy’s happiest moments were spent with her children, laughing, dancing, and enjoying the simple joy of being together.
Kristy will be remembered as a loving mother, daughter, sister, and friend whose warmth, energy, and passion brought joy to all who knew her. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
