Marion “Lewis” (Tuffy) Jones was born on August 20, 1946 in Big Spring, Texas to Lewis Wilford Jones and Wanda June Tirrell. He went to be with the Lord on October 4, 2014 in Katy, Texas at the age of 68.
Lewis has been a resident of the Katy area for over 30 years. He graduated high school from Lovington High and received his BBA from College of the Southwest, Hobbs NM. Lewis served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked the “oil patch” most of his life which includes Natural Gas Pipeline Company, Texoma Production Company, Sohio, BP, and currently Frank’s International as a Pipe Sales Representative. Lewis was a member of NRA, TSRA, 100 Club and the American Legion. He was a big supporter of the SPCA, Susan B. Komen, and March of Dimes. He was also a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Katy, Texas.
Lewis is survived by: his first wife, Brenda; their children Lewis, Lance and Susan; eight grandchildren; his second wife and best friend, Martha and their child, Hunter “Boo”; and their furry companions, Amy and Courtney. He is also survived by one brother, Donny, one sister, Wanda, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Lewis loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, Ford trucks, doing crossword puzzles, and the Lord. He was known as a kind, gentleman that always had a helping hand with a big smile. He never met a stranger. Lewis loved his cowboy hat and boots; he was hardly seen without them. He was proud to be a Texan and was very patriotic.
The last 11 years Lewis spent countless hours in the bleachers watching his youngest son, Boo, play baseball, he was his biggest supporter and fan, never missing a game. The two were inseparable and could be seen visiting their favorite fast food restaurant, Whataburger, regularly.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in the loving memory of Marion Lewis Jones to Susan B. Komen or the SPCA.
