

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Emma Jean Caldwell and James Ward.She is survived by her daughter, Julie M. Brent, of Des Moines, Iowa; her brothers, Harvey R. Caldwell, of Marion, Iowa, and Frederick H. Caldwell, of Houston, Texas; and her sister, Pamela C. Foster, of Katy, Texas.
Mary was born in Jackson, Mississippi, in 1952. At a young age, her family relocated to Des Moines, Iowa, and later to Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Mary attended St. Patrick's Catholic School and graduated from Washington High School, both in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Mary had a deep love for music, particularly the piano, which she played at numerous churches and social gatherings. She generously volunteered her time at various shelters in Jackson, Mississippi, and served in the National Guard in Zion, Illinois.
She was a devout and religious person. Mary's vibrant spirit, artistic talent, and unwavering love for her family and friends will be fondly remembered and cherished by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
