He was born on September 2nd, 1973 in Chicago, Illinois.
Michael was a loving husband and father. He was a great friend to all who had the privilege of knowing him, his selflessness and strength will never be forgotten. He was a huge Jimmy Buffett fan who enjoyed wearing Hawaiian shirts everywhere he went.
Michael was a parishioner at St. Bartholomew the Apostle Catholic Church. He enjoyed collecting Star Wars and Disney memorabilia as well as spending relaxing weekends RVing, fishing and antiquing with his wife and son. He loved spending time listening to classic rock and rooting for the Chicago Blackhawks, White Sox, & DA BEARS!
Michael is preceded in death by grandparents Froylan & Mary Garcia. His uncles Richard Garcia and David Leyva. Aunts’ Lupe De Leon and Catherine Perez and brother Floyd Black.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 15 years, Meliza Garcia; sons Michael Luke Garcia, Eric Posada, Keith Leal and wife Maria of Katy, TX. Daughters; Erika Koppa, husband Matthew, and grandson Gideon of Suffield, CT and Melanie Leal and fiancé Joel Montalvo of Austin, TX.
Michael is also survived by parents Michael and Sandra Garcia. Brother Christopher Garcia and wife Maria of Spring, TX. Sisters Sofia Burns and husband John of The Woodlands, TX. Jennifer Vega and husband Manuel of Chicago, IL. Laura Freeman and husband, John of Spring, TX; and a host of other nieces, nephews and family.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, June 7,2022 between 4:00PM – 7:00PM, with the Rosary taking place at 7:00 PM at Katy Funeral Home located at 23350 Kingsland Blvd Katy, TX 77494.
The funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at 12:00PM at St. Bartholomew the Apostle Catholic Church located at 5356 11th St. Katy, TX 77493.
The Graveside Service will take place following funeral mass at Forest Park Southwest Cemetery located at 9040 FM 359, Richmond, TX 77406.
