

Ouida Ann Rice passed away peacefully at her residence in Sugarland, TX November 2, 2022. Ouida Ann was born in Dallas, Texas on August 17, 1953 to Otto Pete and Ouida Moore (Guice) Rice of Pampa, Texas.
Ouida Ann attended Captain Shreve High School in Shreveport, Louisiana, where she was a majorette in the high school band. Her family later relocated to Richardson, Texas and Ouida attended college in Dallas. Ouida graduated with a Bachelors Degree from the University of Houston, where she was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority.
Ouida had a successful career working for Sun Micro Systems, transferring her to Pleasanton, CA, Denver, then back to Richardson and later Sugarland. Prior to retiring Ouida was extremely successful as the Sales Operations Manager for Oracle. She was definitely a people person with a very sweet personality and a talent for listening to others, as well as being technically oriented.
Ouida truly had a passion for Houston football, for years never missing a game with her seasons tickets. She loved to travel, took many cruises, and was loving and generous with family and friends. Ouida Ann and her parents Pete and Ouida Rice were members of Southminster Presbyterian Church for many years.
Ouida Ann was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents Otto Clay and Bess Rice; Uncle Bill Reid Rice and Doris Wilson Rice; Aunt Lillian Rice Kelly; cousin Kymm Rice Woods; Grandparents William Moore and Willie Lee Mercer Guice; Uncle Wilton Montgomery Guice Sr. (Wick), Aunt Mary B. Robinson Guice, of Shreveport, LA.; Aunt Mary Ann Guice McCook of Mississippi.
Ouida Ann is survived and lovingly missed by her cousins (on her dad's side): Bill Kelly of Fort Worth, TX; Jan (Rice) Thompson-Harnett of Lago Vista, TX; Karol Rice of Seaside, OR; Beth (Rice) Guthrie of San Antonio, TX; Clay and Beth Rice of Pampa, TX; along with Uncle Dawrence Wayne Rice and numerous cousins in California; Cousins (On her mother's side) Wilton Montgomery Guice, Jr. (Rick) and Ora Layne of Bossier City, LA.; Captain Adam Wayne Guice and Leigh, his children, Aidan and Cason Guice of Houston ; Adrian Lee Guice of Houston , his children, Scarlett Terhaar and Joey of North Carolina, Ethan Guice of Santee, CA; Anita Ruth Guice Watson and Steven; their children, Hunter Wayne, Garrett Douglas, and Daulton Montgomery Watson of Caney, Kansas; Their mother, Voncile Jennings of Southeast Kansas, William Roderick Guice and Rose of Bakersfield, CA; his children, Laura and Dan Thornton and Stephanie and Matt Reimer of Denver, CO.; Close friends Perry and Karen Izland, who were faithful in overseeing her care, along with Adrian and Adam Guice. Ouida is descended on her father's side from the James Senter Rice family; and the Frederick Peter Reid Family of Pampa, TX.; Mother's Side: the William Allen Mercer Family of Terrell, TX. And the William Montgomery Guice Family of Winnsboro, LA.
A memorial service for Ouida Ann Rice will be held at Katy Funeral Home on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 10:00 A.M.
