Rachel Lasseter Clark, age 47, of Katy, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2022. Rachel was born on Saturday, January 4, 1975, to Art and Penny Lasseter. A loving mother, Rachel passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by many loving family members and friends, after a valiant battle with stage 4 colon cancer.
After moving to Houston with her family, Rachel began Kindergarten at Bear Creek Elementary, and attended Mayde Creek Jr. High and Mayde Creek High School. She graduated from Baylor University, where she obtained her Bachelor of Business Administration in Information Systems Management.
After earning her degree, Rachel began her career at Dell Computer Systems, where she worked for 10 years as a Data Analyst and an International IT Program Manager. Rachel retired from Dell to raise her two sons, Hudson James Clark and Camden Joshua Clark. In 2014, when her boys were a little older, Rachel obtained her real estate license and worked for Keller Williams Premier Realty as a valued agent. Rachel loved her role as a realtor and was passionate about serving her customers, even when she was sick and receiving chemotherapy. In 2020, Rachel finished in the top 20% of close to 400 agents for 5 years in a row.
Rachel was passionate about her involvement in her sons’ lives and never missed an opportunity to demonstrate her love to them. She was also passionate about sharing the love of our Lord with others and her faith was an integral part of her life. Her sweet Christian spirit touched the lives of so many. A loyal servant to God, Rachel spent months dedicating her life to training her golden retriever, Asher, to be a support animal so she could take him to visit sick children in hospitals. Rachel had an adventurous spirit, and her personality was contagious. She loved her Baylor Bears and was an avid football and baseball fan. She enjoyed traveling to games with loved ones and would often reference her memorable time at the College World Series, in Omaha, she attended with her father. She had a passion for the Astros and attended many games with her sons and the love of her life, Duane. Her competitive nature did not end with her love of football or baseball, as she put her whole effort into any game she played, whether playing quarterback for her powderpuff football team in high school or when playing any number of games with her boys or at family reunions. Rachel was never shy about giving her all when she had a goal and was a relentless warrior for those she helped in their time of need.
Now that Rachel has passed into the arms of our Lord, we should remind ourselves that while this is the end of Rachel’s physical life on earth, it is the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey for her in Paradise.
Rachel is survived by many loving family members including her precious sons, Hudson and Camden; her parents, Art and Penny Lasseter; sister, Wendy and husband, Rolf; brother, Aden and wife, Amy; brother, Jared; niece, Emily and husband, Ryan; nephew, Ethan; nieces: Haley, Harper, and Henley Kate; nephew Luke; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, sweet Duane, Maya, Jude, and so many friends.
