

Rebecca, affectionately known to all as Becky, BB, or Aunt BB, was born on September 25, 1984, to Dr. Jerry Street and Dr. Carolyn Galloway. Becky is survived by her father and stepmother, Dr. Laura Jeffries; her mother and stepfather, Boyer Taylor; her sister, Dr. Jennifer Summers (Zachary) and nephews Street and Cole of Austin, TX; her sister, Amy Dabbs (Zeb) and nephews Seth and Jude of Houston, TX. Becky is also survived by aunts and uncles including Jill Street of Beaumont, TX, Brenda Hanes (Mike) of Amarillo, TX; Charlie Galloway (Danise) of Edmond, OK; Betty Shropshire (Carl) of Giddings, TX; cousins Stephanie Skidmore, Sharon Rosser, Summer Latham, Jason Hanes, Russ Galloway, Jamie Prather, Simon Mueller, Harley Martindale; and her former husband, Jason Queen.
Becky is survived by her loving blended and extended family including siblings who all reside in Houston, TX, and include Kimberley Lamb (Jon), Ryan Taylor (Courtney), Grayson Taylor, Sean Cox (Mary Katherine), and Brian Cox (Kim); her nieces and nephews including Jackson Taylor Avila, Charley Lamb, Everett Taylor, George Taylor, Anna Lou Taylor, Brady Cox, Owen Cox, and Morgan Cox. She is also survived by many dear friends who were a part of her family including June Dow of Katy, TX, and her Pookie, Jenny Cruz (Shane) and daughters Lexie, Kylie, and Izzie.
Becky is preceded in death by her grandparents Monty and Myrtle Street and Cecil and Estelle Galloway; her stepsister, Courtney Massey; her aunt, Judy Galloway; and her beloved Havanese pup, Macie Moo.
Becky grew up in Houston, TX, attended Second Baptist Elementary, Spring Branch Middle School, and graduated from Memorial High School in 2003. Following high school, Becky graduated with dual bachelor’s degrees in public relations and Spanish from the University of Texas in 2008. Becky received her master’s degree in human resource management from the University of Houston in 2017. Becky was a Tonkawa at Camp Mystic, Hunt, TX, and was an alumnus of the Tri-Delta Sorority.
Becky’s beautiful smile and bright personality could illuminate any room and her love for family was boundless and unwavering. BB loved movies and could quip a notable line without batting an eye. She cherished family gatherings, holidays and trips to the lake, creating unforgettable memories of her loved ones. BB was a mom to Maci Moo, who loved her unconditionally and never left her side. She was a true fashionista with a knack for blending fashion and sophistication and she was remarkably tech-savvy, staying ahead of the latest trends.
Despite facing challenges with rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia, Becky remained resilient and active, participating in the Rheumatoid Arthritis Support Group, the Fibromyalgia Houston Support Group, and the Living in Chronic Pain Group where she offered and received support and inspiration. Her strength and determination were truly admirable.
Becky grew up attending Chapelwood UMC and was active in the Methodist Youth Fellowship. She was baptized by the Rev. W. Martin Nicholas.
Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we find comfort in the wonderful memories we shared with Becky. We know and believe that she is in God’s hands and is at peace now.
A Service of Worship and Celebration of Life will be held for Becky on August 24, 2024, Chapelwood United Methodist Church Sanctuary, 11140 Greenbay Street, Houston, TX, 77024, at 10 am with a reception to follow in the Fellowship Hall at the church.
